Student-assisted Teaching in Physics: Framework and Application

We look at problems associated with the traditional way to teach basic physics to undergraduate engineering students at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel and classify them. We then focus on student-assisted teaching as a possible alleviation to these problems and show how we have started with its implementation.
